My experience working with John has been life changing. As a client of John Rowe, I benefitted hugely from his coaching expertise. It was a real opportunity that a group of us were given, to take part in weekly and fortnightly one to one meetings. I know that my fellow colleagues and myself really looked forward to the appointments which would focus on professional leadership goals and moving forward to progress and develop. John demonstrated excellent inter-personal skills which resulted in me feeling understood as an individual. He was genuinely interested in my wellbeing and ambitions. As a result of the sessions, I joined the school's lead teacher group then looked at counselling courses. I established a wellbeing space in my school for students. Unfortunately, despite my commitment to the school and its students I found myself becoming increasingly frustrated with the leadership of the organisation, the lack of pace that change occurred and some of the other individuals that worked with me. Through a combination of my own immaturity and lack of management experience this frustration was not portrayed in a positive way. Then I was introduced to John. John possesses attributes that very few individuals have. He made me feel at ease within seconds and understood my position. Through clever questioning and discussion John empowered me to step back and to observe everything that was happening around me, including within myself. I became acutely aware of the power of my spoken language and body language and the impact that this has on others around me. Unknowingly at the time I was able to strip back the emotion and look strategically at all of my surroundings, enabling me to suggest strategic solutions in order to drive pace and change in the school I loved. John supported and guided me through what I see as the ultimate transition to become a school leader, but more importantly as an individual. His impact has reached further than me securing a position on the school’s Senior Leadership team. John has made me a better person for my family.
